Gears of War 3 Getting Free DLC

Epic and Microsoft have announced that five free multiplayer maps will become available for Gears of War 3 later this month. Available on November 24th, the Versus Booster Map Pack will be released containing two mulitplayer maps from Gears of War 1 (Swamp and Clockwork) and three new maps that were part of the just-released Horde Command Pack (Azura,Rustlung, and Blood Drive).

While those who purchased the Horde Command Pack or the Gears Season Pass may feel slighted that three maps included in the DLC they paid for are being released for free less than a month later, not everything from that pack will be made available for free. The horde fortification upgrades, additional playable characters and new weapon skins will still be exclusive to those who purchased the DLC.
