Mass Effect action figures to include Mass Effect 3 multiplayer DLC codes

Well it appears any justification I had for not purchasing Mass Effect action figures have just gone out the window. Bioware and Electronic Arts have announced that upcoming Mass Effect action figures will contain codes for Mass Effect 3 multiplayer DLC. If you thought you could get all the Mass Effect 3 DLC simply by pre-ordering the game on EA's Origin service, playing the Kingdoms of Amalur demo and drinking Dr. Pepper think again.

The first batch of action figures expected to arrive at retail in April/May include Shepard, Grunt, Thane and Tali and are approximately 7" tall. The figures from Big Fish Toys will include a mulitplayer DLC code that "are slightly randomized during the registration and could include powerful new weapons and new characters."

The product listing for the action figures state, "the pack could also include character boosters, weapon modifications, and weapon upgrades to make your multiplayer squad stronger." The multiplayer DLC codes included with these action figures only work for the Xbox 360 and PC, support for PS3 codes have not been announced.

Currently the Bioware store lists a four pack of the above mention action figures for $75 USD. Pretty steep price for some DLC.
