Darksiders getting a prequel novel and lore bible

THQ believes in their Darksiders franchise so much that they are already expanding the property past video games before the second instalment has hit store shelves. Random House is publishing Darksiders: The Abomination Vault which is set for release in May. The Abomination Vault will take place a Millenna before the events of the first Darksiders and will follow both Death and War.

"In Darksiders: The Abomination Vault, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse (beings charged with maintaining the Balance between the forces of Heaven and Hell) have uncovered a plot to resurrect ancient weapons of unimaginable power," says the spiel. "Death, with the help of his compatriot War, must track down and neutralize the mysterious individuals behind the scheme before the entire universe is plunged into a devastating conflict."

In addition to the prequel novel an "IP Bible" is also being developed that will provide additional lore and back story for the franchise.
