We celebrate Xbox One Launch day with tangential rants and some video game conversation.

In news, we talk about the Xbox One Launch, and how console launches kind of suck in general.  We touch on the Xbox One hardware issues, delay of integrated Twitch streaming, Metal Gear Ground Zeroes exclusive DLC, and the rumored Telltale Game of Thrones game.

Still on the Telltale tip, Eric gives us the lowdown on his play through of Wolf Among Us and touches on his experience with Deadfall Adventures.  Pete reflects on his brief time with WWE 2K14, and a spoiler free account of his dive back into Rapture in Bioshock Infinite`s Burial at Sea Episode 1 DLC.

This week's episode comes a bit past due, but who needs timely content when discussions about Superman as a game character are timeless?

We touch on Batman: Arkham Origins, Lego Marvel, and Diablo 3, games all on Eric's list of games he'll probably play, with many tangents throughout.

In news, we take a closer look at the newest announced entry in the Fable series, Fable: Legends, and talk about the things we want them to bring back and avoid from the older games.  Using the recent release date of Titanfall, we use the news as yet another opportunity to launch into the next round of discussion about it.

On this episode we wrap up our impressions about the GTA V single player campaign, and touch on the online component.  Then Eric and Pete briefly recount their experiences with Diablo 3.

In news we muse extensively about the second failed crowd funding attempt for Denis Dyack's Eternal Darkness spiritual successor, and crowd funded games in general.  We also mourn the next gen console launch loss of Watchdogs, with its release date being pushed back.  And finally we touch on "Games with Gold" becoming a permanent XBL Gold membership feature, and the confirmation that developers/publisher will have access to the Xbox One cloud servers for use as multiplayer dedicated servers.

With the avalanche of holiday releases poised to start popping off, we fire up the Delorian and discuss Pete's recent experiences with Saints Row the Third.  Keeping on the preparing for GTAV's release tip, Eric gives his impressions of Payday 2.

In news, we chop it up about GTAV's online mode, and what our expectations are.  And we finish things off continuing our ongoing Xbox One launch conversation framed around the recently announced November 22nd release date.

We re-live our 40oz to Freedom episode due to a technical problem.  After some reminiscing and speculating about Splinter Cell, Eric shares his experience with Saint's Row IV.

Then in news, we discuss yet another Xbox One policy 180, and consider what potential ramifications these changes could have so close to launch.

Closing out the show we go over the newly announced Call of Duty: Ghosts features, which strangely don't look like they're so new.

First half of the podcast, Pete goes into detail about his recent attendance at the biggest fighting game event of the year, the Evolution Championship Series in Las Vegas.  In addition to describing what makes it unique, he gives a firsthand account of the widely reported negative reaction to the Killer Instinct exhibition.  As well he gives his thoughts on two of the showcased indie games, Towerfall and Divekick.

Eric describes his experience with the horror anthology like Walking Dead: 400 Days.  Clearly more than a stop gap between the highly acclaimed Season One and the anticipated Telltale Games sequel, we explore it spoiler free.

In news, we briefly touch on the Windows 8 exclusive Halo universe game Spartan Assault, more about what it means in the bigger picture since we hadn't played it at the time of recording.  We also have a conversation about some news making, non-news items with Xbox One games being playable before installation completes, and Microsoft teasing their indie game plans for the Next Generation (Note: Peter at the time of recording failed to remember the name of the Capybara Games Xbox One exclusive, for the record it's "Below").

To end things, we pay a brief tribute to the passing of Giantbomb.com Ringmaster Ryan Davis, as he and the Bombcast have been a great influence on the show's existence.  We were going to post the link for the re-issued "Fuck Ryan Davis" t-shirt, used to raise funds for his wife, but it appears that official campaign has been put on hold for now.

A week has past and there's actually a new episode! Amongst the frequent mentions and references to Dota 2, Pete gives a preview of his Remember Me review, sharing his conflicting experiences with it. Eric shares with us his time with the Xbox Live Arcade zombie game State of Decay, explaining what it has to offer.

In news, Australia bans another game within their newly modified rating classification; it appears the new boss is the same as the old boss, with Saint's Row IV being the first casualty under the supposedly tweaked system. We discuss the new XBL Gold member perk of receiving two free games a month, with Fable 3 being the first, we go on a not so unexpected tangent about the Fable series and Peter Molyneux. Finally, we end things with the reveal that Titanfall will be a multiplayer only game, and go over what Respawn need to do to pull this off in the big budget marketing climate, valuing bullet point count.

After a long lull in episodes due to life getting in the way, we're back and intend on bringing the heat on a consistent basis again.

Conveniently our return coincidentally comes on the tail of a megaton of E3 and post-E3 news and announcements.  Eric and Pete discuss their favourite games from the show (Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive and Watch_Dogs amongst them) and the Xbox One features which have us most excited about the FUTURE.

Given its own entire segment we rip through the huge gaping holes in the Xbox marketing messaging, and voice our thoughts about the Xbox One-Eighty on DRM policies, with a side of rant on fanboyism.

We celebrate our 36th episode, a Wu Tang-a-versary, with one last discussion about Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, as Pete breaks his complete experience with the game.

Eric gives use the rundown on Tombraider and why he enjoyed it so much. On the other end of the spectrum Eric describes what made Gears of War Judgement disappointing, and we ponder how the next generation People Can Fly Gears game will fare.

Looking to the future, Pete breaks down some of his thoughts from the Injustice: Gods Among Us preview event. In the news we discuss the new Borderlands 2 DLC and what a downloadable content "Season's Pass" should mean.

We get right into it discussing Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, Peter going over his initial impressions and asking Eric about his review play through.

Then we look to the future, as we go full on chopping it up about the recent PS4 announcement.  Speculation is rampant, as we focus on built in streaming capabilities, features we want the Next Xbox to match, and what Microsoft will have to do to top the well executed PS4 announcement.

On the same tip, Pete catches Eric up on all the known details about Bungie's first multiplatform game since their independence, Destiny.  The podcast may have been posted late, but with the glacier like pace Bungie and Activision are releasing info, it's all current and DeLorean fresh.

And we finish things off with brief impressions of the Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag trailer, which dropped just before recording.

Excuse the abrupt stop 10 minutes in, Eric had to fight some crime in his backyard.

The podcast format falls into a Bizarro world wormhole, going over the news stories between our hiatus.  We chat about GTA5 being delayed until September 17th, musing what impact if any it'll have.

We dip into a discussion of the THQ asset auction, summarizing all the properties and teams which have new "homes", and speculating the fates of all those franchises.

After some lengthy news talk we go into some general impressions of Darksiders, delaying the game club spoilercast to a later episode.  Peter goes briefly into some initial impressions on Far Cry 3.  And after the second part of Eric's Civ V intervention, he shares his thoughts about the much talked about Skulls of the Shogun.

On the first episode of 2013, with no news, we discuss our personal lists of top 5 favourite games we played in 2012 and our most disappointing games of the year.  Talk gets pretty detailed, especially on the disappointed list front when talking about a game in a certain series very close to both our hearts.

But first things first, we have a Civ V intervention for Eric and try to get him back on track to play console games again.  Pete talks about his Holiday game marathon.  This includes initial impressions of XCOM and his thoughts after playing Dishonored hardcore and finishing it twice.  Spoiler, he outright gushes about nearly every aspect of it.

We also detail information on our Darksiders game club, which will help take up the slack of the retail dead zone that usually is January.

In the middle of the recording we had Skype/Internet issues, so there's an abrupt stop and start in the conversation about a third/quarter of the way through.

On the holiday episode of the podcast, with nothing really to do with them, Eric describes his initial impressions of the Fable the journey, and on Pete's completion of Halo 4, we wrap up discussion on the single player campaign.  Pete recounts his experience with the first SmartGlass integrated movie, the Dark Knight Rises, detailing the features it offered.

On the news front, we discuss THQ`s recent filing for bankruptcy and purchase by a software holdings company.  After touching on what this may mean, the long standing tradition of a digression into N64 wrestling game conversation makes a guest appearance.

Finally we talk about former Lionhead lead developer and Creative Director of Microsoft Game Studios Europe, Peter Molyneux`s new studio`s successfully Kickstarted game Godus.  Though an Xbox version is not planned, we go into details about the game and the interestingly open development process Godus will follow.

It's looking a lot like the end of the gaming calendar with very little news and only games to play.  Peter wraps up his impressions on Assassin's Creed 3, and goes in depth on why he started a new Dishonored play through taking the more direct combat approach, as opposed to the super stealthy path in his incomplete first play through.

Both Eric and Pete get in on the Halo 4 discussion, marveling at the visuals and asking the philosophical question: why does there need to be a visor outline in the HUD?  Indirectly Halo related, our news discussion revolves around the concept material materials which were leaked for Bungie's first post-Halo series Destiny.

After the music interlude @ about 00:24:38, we go into full Walking Dead spoilercast mode, covering the final two episodes of Season 1 in the epic Telltale game.  In addition to covering our thoughts on the final parts of this clear Game of the Year contender, we speculate about the next season and the uphill battle the sophomore season will clearly face.

Hitting the episode 30 milestone, Pete continues to give his thoughts on Assassin's Creed 3's tutorials, combat and out of place quick time events.  While Eric gives his first impressions of Halo 4 as we discuss Halo multiplayer in a post-Modern Warfare domination world.

In news we speculate what reasons Microsoft has to sponsor a major fighting game tournament (scheduled for June 2013) for the first time in this current fight game renaissance.  We rejoice at the Borderlands 2 graveyard bug being patched.  And we mourn Silicon Knight's fall from grace, watching out for Valkyries as they're knocked down once again by the courts, and insider accounts of some seemingly shady practices.
