Hi I’m Eric Yee and I love video games. That is probably why I have been writing about them for the better part of a decade. My tastes in video games range from deep story driven games all the way mindless button mashing.
Adjusting for the nostalgia factor my favorite game of all time is Mass Effect 1 & 2. Sure that is two games but I think of the Mass Effect series as one contained experience. Some of my favorite games of past generations include Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye, TMNT for the NES, Perfect Dark, Counterstrike and the list goes on. That does looks like predominately shooters but I’m also a fan of action games like Ninja Gadien and RPGs like Dragon Age and Too Human.
When I play and review a game I can look past flaws and problems and still have a good time. I try to look at what the developer tried to accomplish and to what degree they succeeded. Needlessly bashing a game for small issues isn’t my style but I won’t shy away from mentioning what is wrong with a particular title.
Aside from games I’m a big fan of movies, TV shows, comic books and novels. I love watching a great story unfold regardless of the medium. There is nothing I hate more than continuity errors and poor character development (ie: Nathan in Heroes). That being said I did watch every season of Heroes and even every season of Smallville. But to redeem myself here is a brief list of the content I currently jam to:
- The Wire
- Fringe
- Supernatural
- Community
- Parks and Recreation
- 30 Rock
- There is a lot more but I don’t want to make this list too long....Game of Thrones! Walking Dead! Breaking Bad! Dexter! Californication!
I’m also quite the expert on zombies. You would want me on your zombie apocalypse team. Trust me.
I love talking nerd stuff and would love to hear your recommendations for good stuff to check out, so feel free to hit me up on twitter anytime.
Speaking of THE twitter, my linkage is here: @NorthNinja
